At AMMO, we are happy to provide diverse range of putties to suit your modeling needs. Whether you're filling small gaps or large seams, and whether you prefer a solvent-based or acrylic product, you'll find the perfect solution in the AMMO range. Today, we’ll show you how easy they are to use and highlight the different consistencies available.
First, we explore the various consistencies in the Putty Surfacer line. These solvent-based liquid putties are easily applied using their bottle’s built-in applicator brushes. With three different thicknesses available—thin, medium, and thick—you can choose the right one depending on the gap you need to fill. Next, we look at Army Putty Classic, the thickest of AMMO’s solvent-based putties. This denser paste can be diluted and cleaned from brushes using Extra Thin Cement.
Finally, we look at the Arming Putty Acrylic Type, a putty of similar consistency to the Classic, but one that can be cleaned and diluted using just water, or Acrylic Thinner. Those who prefer to avoid solvents, may find this the most preferable of the AMMO Putties to use. Choosing the right putty depends on your personal preference and the specific task at hand. Whatever your project, AMMO has the perfect solution for you!

Looking for tips and tricks for weathering aircraft? In today's video, Manu Gil continues with his Tamiya Kawasaki Ki-61-Id Hien (Tony) aircraft, showing the application of a wide range of weathering effects that you can recreate in your own projects.
Throughout the video you will discover how to apply simple and effective techniques, such as applying and cleaning Panel Line Washes of enamel and adding shadows with an Oilbrusher color. Manu shows how Oilbrusher colors can be used to simulate dirt and stains, as well as add volume. Next, grease and streaking effects were applied with different Streakingbrusher colors. Manu shares tips for each technique to help maintain the realism of aging.
Next, Matt Shaders were used to add more aging to the fuselage. Manu also shows how Metal Slag pigment can be used to add the armament stains. The work continues with pigments, which are used to add a subtle dust effect to the body of the aircraft.
Finally, subtle splashes were added using a diluted Oilbrusher, before sealing the weathered effect with varnish.
