In this small tutorial we show the basic process to paint the interiors of the cockpits in dark colors, being very suitable for those that present as main tones the color black or the classic RLM66 of the Luftwaffe during World War II.
In this example we will work the color black on the pieces of the Mirage F.1B/BE ref. n° SH72291* of Special Hobby in the scale 1/72, without any type of added or detailed to gain effect in the detail that these contribute.

First we apply as a primer and base colour the colour satin black (A.MIG-0032)* diluted with the acrylic thinner (A.MIG-2000)* with 7 parts of paint and 3 parts of thinner.

We mask in the sides of the cockpit the areas we are interested in that keep the black color.

Highlights are added with the RLM66 Schwartzgrau (A.MIG-0218)*, diluted with the same thinner and proportion indicated above, in the upper part of the sides and in the upper part of the rest of the pieces projecting the paint perpendicularly to them.

We remove the masks from the sides and observe the contrast between the base colour and the grey.

Now we start working with the brush by profiling all the elements with the Panel Line Wash Black Night (A.MIG-1611)*, removing and cleaning the excesses with the enamel odourless thinner (A.MIG-2018)*.

Mixing neutral grey (A.MIG-0239)* and RLM66 schwartzgrau (A.MIG-0218)* diluted with water we apply highlights with a brush on the elements in relief.

We finish the painting with the details in their corresponding colors applying them only in the upper part to take advantage of the previous outlining.

Then we glue the different elements together with the extra thin cement (A.MIG-2025)and check that they fit correctly inside.
